Deep in the heart of the Spine, a magnificent waterfall hisses down over a mountain cliff. Tapering down from a huge boulder that divides the water of the Falls, the water roils and froths down over the entrance to the primary den site for the Apparatus Pack. ending up in a deep pool that always produces heavy mists. The pool continues on into a stream that continues on to the sea. The boulder and its opportune location over a series of secondary perches affords a perfect place for Pack meetings and gatherings. Further back, past the dens, the Crystal Hollows begin.

Carved by eons of time, the Hollows that lie beneath Apparatus are vast and nearly as labyrinthine as the Labyrinth Caverns to the south. The Hollows get their name due to the magnificent and delicate crystal formations that replace the normal limestone found in other caves.

Surrounding the Falls, the Whispering Pines grow to great heights and great abundance. The trees here grow to impressive size, both in height and girth, many being large enough for a large bear to fit in the hollowed base. Shafts of sunlight filter through the trees here and give the forest some magnificent views.
